Before you start
What people ask us most
How much does advice from Bermeo Insurance cost?
Talking with us, reviewing your situation and comparing options costs you nothing. If you decide to buy insurance, you pay the premium to the insurer.
What do I need for my first consultation?
Your basic details and an idea of what you want to protect are enough to start. If you already have a policy, having it at hand helps us compare; for health insurance or Medicare, it helps to have a list of your doctors and medicines.
Can you help me in Spanish?
Yes. We work in Spanish or English, whichever you prefer, by video call, by phone or in person.
Do I need a medical exam for life insurance?
It depends on the type of policy and the insurer. Some require one and others are approved with a health questionnaire alone. We explain what each option asks for before you decide.
What is the difference between term and permanent life insurance?
Term Life covers a set period, for example 10, 20 or 30 years. Permanent coverage (Whole Life or Universal Life) is designed to last a lifetime and, depending on the contract, may build cash value.
Which one makes sense depends on which responsibilities you want to cover and for how long.
Can I change plans later?
In many cases yes, but it depends on the type of insurance. Some, like Medicare or Marketplace (ACA) plans, only allow changes during specific enrollment periods. We explain those dates so you can keep them in mind.
Do you work with clients outside the United States?
We serve clients by video call, phone and WhatsApp. The products we can offer depend on the state where you live and the applicable licenses; for transnational clients, eligibility also depends on residence and the insurer's rules.
Is supplemental insurance the same as Medicare Supplement?
No. Supplemental health insurance (accident, critical illness, hospital coverage) is limited-benefit coverage that works alongside your health insurance. Medicare Supplement, or Medigap, is something else and is explained on the Medicare page.
Can I use the contact form to enroll in the Marketplace?
No. The form only lets us contact you. To act on a Marketplace application or enrollment, CMS requires your authorization through its own process, which we complete with you through the proper secure channel.
What do you do with my information?
We use it to answer your request and advise you, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information. Do not send your Social Security number, immigration documents or Medicare number through the site.
